| Victory Pushes Beavers Record to 101-60 | Portland Beavers starter Lakufa'ango Fanau turned in a top-notch performance against the So Cal Republic at House of the Republic. The result was a win for the Beavers, 4-1. Fanau got the win, improving to 6-1. He allowed 3 hits and walked 1 over 7.1 innings. Fanau allowed 1 earned run. Quan Que got the save, his 36th in 43 chances.
The Beavers got a big at-bat from right fielder Teruo Sato. For the game, Sato went 1-4 with a double. He drove in 2 runs. In the top of the sixth, with the bases loaded, he stroked a 2-run double. His 16th double of the season gave Portland a 3-1 lead.
"I still think this team has room for improvement," Sato told the Portland Times.
The first-place Beavers, at 101-60, now lead their division by 2 games.
