| Tornadoes Sneak Past Mustangs, 4-3 | The Tornadoes had to overcome a good performance from Mile High pitcher Katsumi Nakata to claim a 4-3 win at McNichols Stadium. Nakata went 8 innings and allowed 1 earned run. Nate Miller earned his 51st save in 53 chances. The first-place Tornadoes, at 108-50, now lead their division by 9½ games.
Antonio Santana's hit in the top of the ninth was a game-changer. With one out, he rapped a fastball from Antonio Pena for a 3-run home run. It put Kansas City in front, 4-3.
"Honestly, I'm not frustrated," said Mile High manager Kinnojo Shirai. "The effort was great."
