| Hornets Win at Maple, 2-1 | Fans who gathered at Legends Park saw a good contest between the Eureka Hornets and Maple Marauders.
The Eureka Hornets topped the Maple Marauders, 2-1, in Thurman Munson League action at Legends Park. The player of the game was Eureka pitcher Roberto Duran. With the win, Eureka improves its record to 6-8.
The Hornets got a big at-bat from center fielder Rafael Gómez. For the game, Gómez was 2-5 with 2 singles. In the top of the fifth, with a runner on 2nd, he stroked a run-scoring single. His 8th hit of the season gave Eureka a 2-1 lead.
"Win or lose, we pick each other up in this clubhouse," Duran told the Eureka Daily News.
