| Republic Shut Out Texans | So Cal left-hander Toshikasu Yoshida was in fine form, shutting out the Dallas Texans, 6-0. Yoshida, the winner, moves to 5-1. He threw 6.2 innings of 4-hit ball, while fanning 5 and giving up 1 walk. The third-place Republic improved to 89-65.
The Republic got a big at-bat from second baseman Jose Ledezma. For the game, Ledezma was 1 for 3 with a double and a walk. He drove in 2 runs and scored once. In the bottom of the fourth, with runners on 2nd and 3rd, he stroked a 2-run double. His 21st double of the season gave So Cal a 2-0 lead.
