| Pioneers Get Road Win, 3-1 | Vancouver got a first-rate effort from pitcher Dan Miscavage, who frustrated Bloomington hitters en route to a 3-1 Pioneers triumph at Arson Arena. Vancouver reliever Sam Young was the winner. His record is now 7-0. The losing pitcher was Jack Mainjer. Nobutoshi Katayama was credited with the save. He has now successfully converted 9 of 11 save opportunities.
The Pioneers got a big at-bat from catcher Ralph Blair. For the game, Blair went 1 for 4 with a home run, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once. In the top of the seventh, with a runner on 1st, he stroked a 2-run home run. His 7th home run of the season gave Vancouver a 2-0 lead.
"If you pitch well, you give yourself some opportunities," said Vancouver manager Todd Belcher.
Vancouver now owns a record of 62-91.
