| Earthquakes Solve Pioneers, 5-2 | The San Francisco Earthquakes stymied the Vancouver Pioneers, 5-2, at "The Fort" at B.C. Place. Alex Bahena, who had a good day at the plate, was named player of the game. He was 3-4 with a double and 2 singles for San Francisco. The Earthquakes move to 73-79 with the win, while the Pioneers drop to 61-90.
The Earthquakes got a big at-bat from catcher Jun Ogura. For the game, Ogura went 1 for 4. In the top of the fourth, with runners on 1st and 3rd, he stroked a run-scoring single. His 82nd hit of the season gave San Francisco a 2-1 lead.
"I just try to see the ball and put a good swing on it," said Bahena.
