| Marauders Come Up Short at Vancouver | Vancouver Pioneers starter Oscar Saucedo was definitely locked-in. He led his team to a win over the Maple Marauders, 4-3. Saucedo picked up the win for Vancouver, going 6 innings. He gave up 1 run on 6 hits. He now sports a record of 1-6. Darren Thomas got the save, his 12th in 17 chances.
The Pioneers got a big at-bat from second baseman Jess Burhoe. For the game, Burhoe was 1 for 3 with a double, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once. In the bottom of the fifth, with runners on 1st and 3rd, he stroked a 2-run double. His 12th double of the season gave Vancouver a 2-1 lead.
"I found a nice groove out there," said Saucedo.
