Rhinos Rally to Eke Out Win

The Rubber City Rhinos overcame a good performance by Portland third baseman Luke Riviere to knock off Portland, 5-4, at Waterfront Park. Riviere was 3 for 3 with a home run, 2 singles, and 2 walks. Rubber City reliever John Knight picked up the win, upping his record to 3-5. Quan Que absorbed the loss. Even with the win, the Rhinos have a dismal 49-100 record.

The Rhinos got a big at-bat from center fielder Akio Ishii. For the game, Ishii went 2-5 with 2 singles. In the top of the tenth, with runners on 1st and 2nd, he stroked a run-scoring single. His 133rd hit of the season gave Rubber City a 5-4 lead.

"Wish we'd had more wins to celebrate like this one," said Ishii.
