| Stogies Win in Extras | Las Vegas shortstop Gary Skinner was sensational. He went 4-5 with a triple, 3 singles, and a walk, while scoring 2 times, but it wasn't enough to rally his team to a win. Havana beat the Aces, 5-4. Skinner was named the player of the game despite the loss. Havana leads the Roberto Clemente League Christian Latulippe Division by 19½ games.
Havana won the game in the bottom of the 11th inning. With two outs and Chata Jamaot on the mound for Las Vegas, catcher David Newsome hit a dramatic solo home run, bringing Stogies fans to their feet.
"I'm not out there for personal accomplishments," Newsome told a Havana Daily reporter after the game. "I'm out there to help the team win, and that's what we did today."
