Norogumi Yokoyama, the winner, improved to 7-7. He held the Titanic to 3 earned runs on 3 hits over 8 innings, while striking out 9 and walking 1. Hawaii has 3 straight wins, Belfast 6 straight losses.
Costales had a game-changing single in the top of the sixth. On a 1-2 fastball from Phil Kettenring, he banged a 2-run single to right, giving the Islanders a 5-3 lead. It was the 121st hit of the year for Costales.
