The Beavers got a fine performance from first baseman Robert Mentzer, who captured player of the game honors. He went 3-4 with a home run and 2 singles. He drove in 4 runs and scored once. The Beavers own a robust 94-55 mark.
The Beavers got a big at-bat from shortstop David Fanelli. For the game, Fanelli went 2 for 4 with a double, while scoring 2 runs and driving in 2. In the bottom of the fifth, with runners on 1st and 2nd, he stroked a run-scoring single. His 39th hit of the season gave Portland a 2-1 lead.
