| Marauders Lose, 4-2, at The Nest | Eureka first baseman Brian Delmont played a vital role in his team's 4-2 triumph over Maple. He was 3 for 3 with 3 singles and a walk, while scoring 2 times for Eureka. Eureka reliever Adam Hirsch picked up the win, upping his record to 2-0. Norbert Philips was saddled with the loss. Eureka currently is in 4th place in the Thurman Munson League Sparky Anderson Division at 68-75.
The Hornets got a big at-bat from third baseman Ron Gale. For the game, Gale was 1-4 with a home run. He drove in 3 runs and scored once. In the bottom of the sixth, with runners on 1st and 2nd, he stroked a 3-run home run. His 14th home run of the season gave Eureka a 4-1 lead.
Delmont told a Eureka Daily News reporter that he was "more than satisfied" with the win.
