The San Diego Hops defeated the Eureka Hornets, 8-3. Earning player of the game honors was center fielder Carlos Minchala, who went 2-3 with a home run and a walk. He drove in 2 runs and scored once. The Hops improved to 57-87.

Akitoshi Tomita went 1 for 3 with a walk for San Diego. The 26-year old catcher had a key at-bat in the bottom of the sixth. With one out and the bases loaded, he broke a 3-3 tie with a run-scoring walk off Henry Baker. It was his 6th walk of the season.

"I really like what we did out there today," Tomita said after the game.
