Matsumoto goes 3-for-4, Sasquatch Move to 91-52

The Seattle Sasquatch stopped the Midland Rockhounds, 7-5, behind an impressive performance from Kiyoji Matsumoto. The 27-year old catcher made life miserable for Midland pitching. He was 3-4 with a home run and 2 doubles. He scored 2 times and drove in 3. Shuichi Imai earned the win for Seattle. He lasted 6 innings, allowing 5 earned runs on 4 hits, while striking out 9. With the win, he raised his record to 8-8. The first-place Sasquatch, at 91-52, now lead their division by 3 games.

Matsumoto had a game-changing home run in the bottom of the sixth. On a 1-2 fastball from Tony López, he banged a 2-run home run to left, giving the Sasquatch a 7-5 lead. It was the 36th home run of the year for Matsumoto.
