| Mustangs Prove Rude Guests, Win 5-3 at Cabo San Lucas | The Mile High Mustangs picked up a win at Field de Los Layendas, knocking off the Cabo San Lucas Toreros, 5-3. Starting pitcher Rich Virola, who captured player of the game honors, was a big reason why. Obke van der Haar got the save, his 18th in 18 chances. Mile High, now 63-76, holds 5th place in the Thurman Munson League Sparky Anderson Division.
Jesús García aided the Mile High cause with a 2-run single in the top of the sixth. For the game, the second baseman went 2 for 4 with 2 singles. He drove in 2 runs and scored once.
"We can always improve and get better, but we're feeling confident after that win," said Virola.
