| Beavers Subdue Las Vegas, 5-3 | The Portland Beavers picked up a win at Waterfront Park, knocking off the Las Vegas Aces, 5-3. Starting pitcher Félix Reina, who captured player of the game honors, was a big reason why. The Beavers have an impressive 85-54 record.
The Beavers got a big at-bat from center fielder Zane Mogeni. For the game, Mogeni went 1 for 4 with a double. He drove in 3 runs. In the bottom of the seventh, with the bases loaded, he stroked a bases-clearing double. His 16th double of the season gave Portland a 5-3 lead.
"If we play like this, we can win a lot of games," Reina told the Portland Times.
