| Hornets Turn Back Cabo San Lucas, 4-3 | Eureka beat Cabo San Lucas at The Nest, eking out a 4-3 win. The win was due in large part to third baseman Ron Gale, who earned player of the game honors. Eureka now sits in 4th place in the Thurman Munson League Sparky Anderson Division at 64-69.
Gale had a game-changing home run in the bottom of the sixth. On a first pitch cutter from Steve Vincent, he banged a 3-run home run to right-center, giving the Hornets a 4-3 lead. It was the 13th home run of the year for Gale.
"It feels good to get this one," Gale told the Eureka Daily News.
