| Multi-HR Day for Kono as Black Knights Overpower Beavers, 7-5 | Brooklyn and Portland put this game in the books despite some rain.
The Brooklyn Black Knights defeated the Portland Beavers, 7-5, at Blue Ivy Stadium. Brooklyn right fielder Hiroshi Kono was named player of the game for his superb performance. He was 2 for 3 with 2 home runs and a walk, while adding 3 RBI and scoring twice. Ji-hwan Yea got the save, his 28th in 32 chances.
Early in the game, Kono had a 2-run home run for Brooklyn. It was his 5th home run of the season and put the Black Knights on top, 5-3.
"One win at a time, one game at a time. We try not to get too far ahead of ourselves," Kono told the Brooklyn Citizen.
The Black Knights raised their record to 63-72.
