| Islanders Scratch and Claw to 8-4 Win | The Hawaii Islanders downed the Seattle Sasquatch, 8-4, at Sick's Stadium. Freddy Ramos led the way, going 3-for-5 for Hawaii. Hawaii reliever Daniel Avery picked up the win to move to 7-8. Quiang Tu suffered the loss. Hawaii is now 62-70, Seattle 83-50.
This game was not decided until late. With one out in the top of the ninth, Pat Schmoll hit a sacrifice fly. The Islanders took the lead, 5-4.
"We maximized our offense today," said Hawaii skipper Leland Ray. "That makes everyone's life easier."
