| Pioneers Win at Cabo San Lucas, 5-4 | The Vancouver Pioneers downed the Cabo San Lucas Toreros, 5-4, at Field de Los Layendas. Yoshiro Allen led the way, going 2-for-4 for Vancouver. Vancouver reliever Darren Thomas picked up the win, bumping his record to 1-0. Ian Portz was collared with the loss. Alex Gutierrez earned save number 1.
Allen had a game-changing home run in the top of the seventh. On a 2-2 cutter from Ian Portz, he banged a 2-run home run to left-center, giving the Pioneers a 5-4 lead. It was the 1st home run of the year for Allen.
"I just try to see the ball and put a good swing on it," said Allen.
The Pioneers, now 4-9, have not found much traction so far in 2038.
