| Texans Need Extras to Top Marauders | Maple got a terrific performance from pitcher Rodrigo Garza, but it wasn't enough to beat the Dallas Texans. Dallas won the Metroplex Park contest, 3-2. Garza was the player of the game despite being on the losing side. He threw 7 innings allowing 2 runs. Reliever Domingo Rueda picked up the win. His record improves to 3-1. Jalen Mitchelle took the loss. The losing skid has reached 6 games for Maple.
The clutch at-bat came in the bottom of the 12th inning, when Dallas left fielder Bob Hern, facing Justin Rogers, had a run-scoring hit-by-pitch. It gave the Texans the 3-2 win.
"We can always improve and get better, but we're feeling confident after that win," said Hern.
