Beavers Bang Out 14-9 Win Versus So Cal

The inspired effort of So Cal shortstop Eddie Joost was not enough to prevent a 14-9 loss to the Portland Beavers. Joost was 3 for 5 with a home run and a double, while scoring 3 runs and driving in 3. Portland reliever Lakufa'ango Fanau picked up the win, upping his record to 3-1. Ju-ao Ru shouldered the loss. The Beavers bumped their record to 80-47 with this latest triumph.

Bill Rendell aided the Portland cause with a bases-clearing triple in the bottom of the first. For the game, the catcher went 2-4 with a triple. He drove in 3 runs and scored once.

"We maximized our offense today," said Portland skipper Darwin Strickland. "That makes everyone's life easier."
