Mustangs Edge Past Rockhounds, 8-7

Mile High beat Midland at Field of Dreams, eking out a 8-7 win. The win was due in large part to center fielder Denzel Kemsley, who earned player of the game honors. Reliever Danny Reliford picked up the win. His record improves to 1-0. Pete Tupper took the loss. Matt Rogers nailed down his 1st save.

Kemsley contributed a big hit, a 2-run single, for Mile High in the top of the fifth. With his team trailing 1-0, Kemsley took a fastball from Andy Mendoza and stroked the single to center. His 5th hit of the season allowed the Mustangs to leap in front, 2-1.

"We took advantage of our opportunities," Kemsley told the Mile High Today. "It's as simple as that."

The Mustangs raised their record to 1-1.
