| Tornadoes Blank Midland, Johnson Winner | Tanner Johnson kept the opposition off the scoreboard and the Kansas City Tornadoes were all smiles after winning 2-0 against the Midland Rockhounds at Field of Dreams today. The left-handed Johnson gave up no runs in his start, permitted 6 hits and had 6 strikeouts.
"If there was a stat for 'team shutout,' this would be it," Johnson said later. "My catcher called a great game, guys delivered at the plate and when I messed something up the guys behind me were where they needed to be."
This year Johnson has a 11-6 mark in 21 starts with a 3.20 ERA. He has given up 133 hits in 149 innings, struck out 111 and issued 21 walks. Opposing clubs have compiled a .235 batting average against him. |
