Bloomington Bats Go Silent in 2-0 Loss

The Maple Marauders got a magnificent performance from pitcher Eddie Taveras, who stifled the Bloomington offense en route to a 2-0 Marauders win at Arson Arena. The Marauders bumped their record to 64-61 with this latest triumph.

The Marauders got a big at-bat from left fielder Tommy Buford. For the game, Buford went 1 for 4 with a home run. In the top of the fifth, with the bases empty, he stroked a solo home run. His 23rd home run of the season gave Maple a 1-0 lead.

"Winning the game is always the first objective," Buford said.
