Toreros Prevail, 5-3, Over Vancouver

The Cabo San Lucas Toreros picked up a win at "The Fort" at B.C. Place, knocking off the Vancouver Pioneers, 5-3. Starting pitcher Ian Portz, who captured player of the game honors, was a big reason why. Portz, now 11-11, was the winner. In 8 innings, he gave up 5 hits, while striking out 6, walking 1, and allowing 3 earned runs. The Toreros bumped their record to 70-55 with this latest triumph.

Kerry Hood aided the Cabo San Lucas cause with a run-scoring sacrifice fly in the top of the seventh. For the game, the third baseman was 1-3.
