Rhinos Prevail, 3-1, Over Dallas

The Rubber City Rhinos got a magnificent performance from pitcher Jose Gonzalez, who muffled the Dallas offense en route to a tight 3-1 Rhinos win at Metroplex Park. In 7 innings, Gonzalez surrendered 5 hits, while striking out 2 and walking 2. He allowed 1 run. John Knight converted his 6th save in 7 tries.

The Rhinos got a big at-bat from left fielder Akio Ishii. For the game, Ishii was 1 for 4 with a home run. He drove in 2 runs and scored once. In the top of the first, with a runner on 1st, he stroked a 2-run home run. His 17th home run of the season gave Rubber City a 2-0 lead.

"We put a lot of pressure on ourselves," Ishii told a Rubber City Herald reporter. "Sometimes we need just to relax."
