| Beavers Need Extras to Top Sasquatch | The Beavers had to overcome a fine performance from Seattle pitcher Kanichi Kaneshiro to grab a 5-3 win at Sick's Stadium. Kaneshiro allowed 3 earned runs over 8 innings. Portland reliever Quan Que picked up the win to move to 6-4. Quiang Tu suffered the loss. The first-place Beavers have won 5 consecutive games.
The Beavers got a big at-bat from designated hitter Umito Kono. For the game, Kono went 1 for 4 with a home run. He drove in 2 runs and scored once. In the top of the tenth, with a runner on 1st, he stroked a 2-run home run. His 12th home run of the season gave Portland a 5-3 lead.
