| Multi-HR Day for Commo as Earthquakes Overpower Pioneers, 6-4 | The San Francisco Earthquakes defeated the Vancouver Pioneers, 6-4. Earning player of the game honors was left fielder Jim Commo, who went 3-4 with 2 home runs, while adding 4 RBI and scoring twice. Owen Lewis closed the door for San Francisco, picking up his 3rd save of the year. The Pioneers, at 3-9, have stumbled out of the gate.
Commo had a game-changing home run in the bottom of the eighth. On a 1-0 fastball from Mickael Raymond, he banged a 2-run home run to right, giving the Earthquakes a 6-4 lead. It was the 3rd home run of the year for Commo.
"Enjoyed this one," Commo told the San Francisco Bulletin. "But it's back to work tomorrow."
