| Pioneers Win at Maple, 7-5 | Vancouver and Maple duked it out at Legends Park and the Pioneers came out victorious.
The Vancouver Pioneers defeated the Maple Marauders, 7-5, at Legends Park today. Leading the charge for Vancouver was center fielder Justin Nance. He went 3 for 4 with a home run and 2 singles. He drove in 3 runs and scored once. Sam Young got credit for the win, improving to 5-0. He allowed no runs on 3 hits in 3 innings. Darren Thomas notched his 10th save in 15 chances.
Nance had a game-changing home run in the top of the sixth. On a 2-1 fastball from Rodrigo Garza, he banged a 3-run home run to right, giving the Pioneers a 6-5 lead. It was the 24th home run of the year for Nance.
