| Guzmán Powers Islanders to 9-3 Win | The Hawaii Islanders dealt the Las Vegas Aces a 9-3 loss at Sin City Stadium. Manuel Guzmán was the star on offense. He went 2-3 with a home run and 2 walks. He scored 3 times and drove in 2. Cruz Miguel was the winner. Over 6 innings, he allowed 1 run on 2 hits, with 2 walks and 7 strikeouts. Shinzo Sasaki earned his 2nd save in 2 chances.
Hawaii used the timely hitting of Oscar Costales to seize the win. The center fielder stroked a 2-run single in the top of the second inning to put the Islanders on top, 2-0. It was his only hit in 4 at-bats, but it was a game-changer.
