| Texans Lose, 8-5, at Aloha Stadium | Despite a great performance by Dallas third baseman Jerry Schnoor, the Hawaii Islanders defeated the Texans by the score of 8-5 at Aloha Stadium. Schnoor was 4-5 with a double and 3 singles. Daniel Avery picked up the win with 6.2 innings of work. He allowed 5 earned runs on 13 hits, while walking 1 and striking out 5. On the season, he is now 4-7. Norogumi Yokoyama, credited with the save, is now 1 for 2 in save opportunities.
Freddy Ramos went 1-4. He drove in 2 runs for Hawaii. The former first round draft pick had a key at-bat in the bottom of the fourth. With one out and runners on 1st and 3rd, he broke a 4-4 tie with a run-scoring sacrifice fly off Tomio Nakahara. It was his 48th RBI of the season.
"It feels good to get this one," Ramos told the Hawaii Herald.
The 5th-place Islanders now have a win-loss record of 47-62.
