| Rhinos Squelch Black Knights Offense in Shutout Win | Rubber City pitcher Jackson Knickle did his part in helping his team beat the Brooklyn Black Knights, 3-0. The right-hander kept opposing batters in check throughout the game. Knickle got the win, improving to 1-0. He allowed no hits and walked 2 over 5 innings. Knickle allowed no earned runs. John Knight got the save, his 5th in 5 chances.
Rubber City took a 1-0 lead in the bottom of the seventh inning. With no one out, center fielder Jimmy Wynn hit a solo home run that set the crowd abuzz.
Knickle attributed the win to "energy and focus on the part of everyone."
Even with the win, the Rhinos have a dismal 36-73 record.
