Field of Dreams was the site of a competitive game between the South Carolina Bombers and Midland Rockhounds.

Midland beat South Carolina on the strength of starter John Denny's fine effort. The right-hander led his team to a 3-1 win. Denny, now 11-4, was the winner. In 8 innings, he gave up 7 hits, while striking out 5, walking 1, and allowing 1 earned run. Amirtharaj Nagaraja got the save, his 18th in 22 chances.

Jejomar Butardo, who is a four-time Gold Glove Award winner, aided the Midland cause with a solo home run in the bottom of the fourth. For the game, the right fielder slugged 2 home runs.

Denny attributed the win to "energy and focus on the part of everyone."
