| Stogies Stun Hops, 5-4 | Havana first baseman Bobby Savoy had 3 ribbies while helping his team defeat the San Diego Hops, 5-4. Havana reliever Danny Posada picked up the win, upping his record to 2-5. David Araujo shouldered the loss. Mudasser Sabzvari was credited with the save. He has now successfully converted 23 of 27 save opportunities.
Savoy had a game-changing triple in the bottom of the eighth. On a 1-1 sinker from David Guyer, he banged a bases-clearing triple to center, giving the Stogies a 5-4 lead. It was the 1st triple of the year for Savoy.
"I was a little disappointed," said San Diego manager Carl Best. "We could've and should've scored more runs."
Havana has an impressive 71-36 record.
