| Zepeda Shuts Out Pioneers | Alexis Zepeda of the Eureka Hornets was one tough customer on the hill today, blanking the Vancouver Pioneers 6-0 on 4 hits.
"When he's on, he's tough to hit," said Vancouver manager Todd Belcher after the game. "He's just a bulldog out there."
The 32-year-old Hornets left-hander registered 7 strikeouts and allowed 1 walk and 4 hits.
Zepeda has made 22 starts, tossed 163.1 innings, struck out 124 batters and walked 57. His record is 7-13 with a 4.68 ERA and he has limited other teams to a .254 batting average. |
