| Black Knights Get Close Win Over Republic | The So Cal Republic got a superb performance from first baseman Justin Nichols. Still, it wasn't enough to beat Brooklyn. The Black Knights won the game, 8-7. In spite of the loss, Nichols was named the player of the game. He went 2-3 with 2 home runs and a walk, while adding 3 RBI and scoring twice. Brooklyn, at 52-59, sits in third place in the Roberto Clemente League Christian Latulippe Division.
Jorge Palacios was the walk-off hero for Brooklyn. With the game tied in the bottom of the ninth inning, the Black Knights left fielder hit a dramatic run-scoring single to send the teams home.
"Put a star next to this win," Palacios said.
