| Republic Lose, 4-2, at Blue Ivy Stadium | The Brooklyn Black Knights topped the So Cal Republic, 4-2, in Roberto Clemente League action at Blue Ivy Stadium. The player of the game was Brooklyn pitcher Kyuji Aoki. Aoki, the winner, moves to 6-3. He threw 6 innings of 4-hit ball, while fanning 7 and giving up 3 walks. Ji-hwan Yea was credited with the save. He has now successfully converted 22 of 24 save opportunities.
The Black Knights got a big at-bat from first baseman Kevin Howard. For the game, Howard was 1 for 4 with a home run, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once. In the bottom of the sixth, with a runner on 1st, he stroked a 2-run home run. His 28th home run of the season gave Brooklyn a 4-2 lead.
"We made a couple of mistakes," said So Cal skipper Adrián Carne, "and it cost us."
