| Hornets Get One-Run Win at South Carolina | Ernesto Argueta did all he could to help his team win. In the end, though, it wasn't enough to keep the South Carolina Bombers from losing, 7-6, to the Eureka Hornets at Bomber Ballpark. Argueta slugged 2 home runs. He scored 3 runs and drove in 3. Juan Mendoza got the win, improving to 6-9. He pitched 6 innings, giving up 7 hits and 2 runs, while striking out 6 and walking 2. Yoshiki Sato earned his 7th save in 9 chances.
The Hornets got a big at-bat from shortstop Alberto Murillo. For the game, Murillo was 2 for 3 with a double and a walk, while adding 3 RBI. In the top of the fourth, with runners on 1st and 3rd, he stroked a run-scoring single. His 18th hit of the season gave Eureka a 1-0 lead.
"We found a way to get it done," Murillo said.
The 4th-place Hornets improved to 49-54.
