| Extra-Inning Win by Rockhounds over Pioneers | The Vancouver Pioneers got a superb performance from third baseman Carlos Gallardo. Still, it wasn't enough to beat Midland. The Rockhounds won the game, 5-4. In spite of the loss, Gallardo was named the player of the game. He was 2 for 4 with a home run and a walk, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once. The last-place Pioneers have dropped 4 straight games.
The Rockhounds got a big at-bat from right fielder Ryan Cunningham. For the game, Cunningham was 1 for 1. In the bottom of the 11th, with runners on 1st and 2nd, he stroked a run-scoring single. His 64th hit of the season gave Midland a 5-4 lead.
"This wasn't a good win," said Cunningham. "It was a great win."
