| Beavers Bridle Stogies, 4-3 | The Portland Beavers picked up a win at Waterfront Park, knocking off the Havana Stogies, 4-3. Starting pitcher Felipe De La Hoya, who captured player of the game honors, was a big reason why. De La Hoya got the win, improving to 15-6. He allowed 7 hits and walked 1 over 7 innings. De La Hoya allowed 2 earned runs. The first-place Beavers have won 4 straight.
The Beavers got a big at-bat from first baseman Robert Mentzer. For the game, Mentzer was 1-4 with a home run, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once. In the bottom of the first, with a runner on 1st, he stroked a 2-run home run. His 42nd home run of the season gave Portland a 2-0 lead.
