The Quebec Armada and San Francisco Earthquakes provided some drama at Lucky 7 Ballpark.

The Quebec Armada got a superb performance from pitcher Luis Mendez. Still, it wasn't enough to beat San Francisco. The Earthquakes won the game, 4-3. In spite of the loss, Mendez was named the player of the game. He threw 9 innings of 6-hit ball. The Earthquakes bumped their record to 51-51 with this latest triumph.

Had Matt Drake not delivered a key base hit in the top of the eighth, the outcome might have been different. Instead, with two down and the bases empty, Drake hit a solo home run. That made the score 4-3, in favor of the Earthquakes.

"We put together a nice win," Drake said.
