| Toreros Edge Republic, 2-1 | The Cabo San Lucas Toreros picked up a win at House of the Republic, knocking off the So Cal Republic, 2-1. Starting pitcher Ian Portz, who captured player of the game honors, was a big reason why. The first-place Toreros, at 59-43, now lead their division by 5 games.
The Toreros got a big at-bat from designated hitter Kevin Parry. For the game, Parry was 1 for 4 with a home run. In the top of the seventh, with the bases empty, he stroked a solo home run. His 2nd home run of the season gave Cabo San Lucas a 2-1 lead.
"Both teams played hard," said Cabo San Lucas manager Cisco Sánchez.
