| Texans Stymie San Francisco, Take 7-0 Win | The Dallas Texans picked up a win at Metroplex Park, knocking off the San Francisco Earthquakes, 7-0. Starting pitcher Felipe Rodríguez, who captured player of the game honors, was a big reason why. Rodríguez, now 5-7, was the winner. In 6 innings, he gave up 1 hit, while striking out 2, walking 1, and allowing no earned runs. The Texans raised their record to 42-61.
The Texans got a big at-bat from first baseman Manuel Ríos. For the game, Ríos was 1 for 4 with a double, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once. In the bottom of the second, with runners on 1st and 2nd, he stroked a 2-run double. His 4th double of the season gave Dallas a 2-0 lead.
"I thought we played a nice game," Ríos told the Dallas Herald. "Good pitching, timely hitting, it was all there."
