Beavers Raise Rally Flag, Beat Vancouver, 8-7

The Portland Beavers downed the Vancouver Pioneers, 8-7, at Waterfront Park. Luke Riviere led the way, going 2-for-4 for Portland. Portland reliever Quan Que was credited with the win, to go to 5-4. Darren Thomas took the loss for Vancouver. The Beavers bumped their record to 62-38 with this latest triumph.

The clutch at-bat came in the bottom of the ninth inning, when Portland second baseman Phil Kinch, facing Ryan Merrill, had a run-scoring hit-by-pitch. It gave the Beavers the 8-7 win.

"I like the grit of this ballclub," Riviere said.
