Pioneers Turn Back Portland, 4-3

The Portland Beavers got a superb performance from second baseman Phil Kinch, but the Vancouver Pioneers still won the game, 4-3. Kinch was named the player of the game despite the loss. He was 2-3 with a home run. He drove in 2 runs and scored once. The Pioneers, at 42-58, sit in last place in the Thurman Munson League Billy Martin Division.

Rob Muniz helped out the Vancouver cause in the top of the second inning with a run-scoring double. For the game, the second baseman was 1 for 3 with a double and a walk.

"We did enough to win," said Muniz.
