| Sasquatch Come Up Short at San Francisco | San Francisco starter Zack Hogan pitched effectively against the Seattle Sasquatch at Golden Gate Park. The left-hander led his team to a 1-0 win. The winning pitcher was Hogan, now 6-4. He tossed 6.1 innings of 4-hit ball, while walking 0 and fanning 6. The Earthquakes bumped their record to 49-49 with this latest triumph.
The Earthquakes got a big at-bat from third baseman Wang Huang. For the game, Huang went 1 for 3. In the bottom of the sixth, with runners on 1st and 2nd, he stroked a run-scoring single. His 50th hit of the season gave San Francisco a 1-0 lead.
"It was a solid team effort and we'll try to keep this momentum going," Huang told reporters after the game.
