Howard Slugs Black Knights to 8-3 Win

The Brooklyn Black Knights defeated the Havana Stogies, 8-3, at Blue Ivy Stadium today. Leading the charge for Brooklyn was first baseman Kevin Howard. He was 2-3 with 2 home runs and a walk. He drove in 4 runs and scored twice. Losses have been few and far between for the Stogies so far this season. Their record drops to 7-2.

Brooklyn grabbed the momentum in the bottom of the fifth, when Howard, who is a two-time Gold Glove Award winner, hit a 3-run home run. His 4th home run of the season put the Black Knights out in front, 6-3.

"The name of the game is scoring runs," Howard said. "We did a good job of that today."
