| Cacti Hammered by Ortiz, Drop Game 7 to Death Stars | The Detroit Death Stars needed some late heroics to do it, but ultimately emerged one game away from the Round 3 today. The Death Stars needed 11 innings before taking the 4-3 win against the Albuquerque Cacti in a walk-off at The Death Star. Detroit right fielder Willis Ortiz was named player of the game after he went 3 for 4 with a home run, a triple, a double, and a walk, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once. The win gives the Death Stars a 4-3 advantage in the best-of-7 Triple A World Series.
Late in the game, shortstop Antonio Reyna had a big at-bat for Detroit. In the bottom of the 11th, he hit a run-scoring single off Miguel Serbin. The play gave the Death Stars a 4-3 lead.
