| Death Stars Clip Cacti 3-2 in R2 Contest | The Detroit Death Stars topped the Albuquerque Cacti by the score of 3-2 and moved into a 2-2 tie in the Triple A World Series today. The largest share of the credit went to player of the game and Detroit starter Sergio Solis, who threw 7 innings of 5-hit ball in the win.
Detroit relied on the hitting of Willis Ortiz to pick up the win. The right fielder ripped a run-scoring triple in the top of the eighth inning to put the Death Stars on top, 3-2. For the game, Ortiz had 1 triple and 1 single in 4 at-bats.
Despite the victory, Ortiz was prickly with assembled media after the game. He said only that he was "happy with the win."
The next game is set to be played tomorrow at Albuquerque Sports Stadium in Albuquerque. Slated to start are Ramón Gómez for Detroit and Blake Orlando for Albuquerque.
